South Korean Normcore fashion has easily become my inspiration for 2017. I have been slowly gathering pieces that are popular in Seoul, like the patent chunky sole chelsea boots, for example. You’ll see them on just about everyone: men, women, and even children. Next is the shearling collar denim jacket, which I’d like to pick up in a regular length aswell (here). I chose the longline version of the denim coat because Texas winters are slightly delayed, and start around mid January and end at the beginning of March. So, Normcore is defined as a unisex fashion trend characterized by unpretentious, normal-looking clothing. “Normcore is an especially tricky style to master because it’s so, well, bland”. It might be bland, but the right pieces make it look effortlessly c o o l. Still not quite sure what Normcore is? You can view my Pinterest board to check out what’s currently inspiring me from the streets of Seoul here!

I love distressed denim, period. Jeans, shorts, and now skirts. This skirt from Gamiss has become my favorite because of the frayed hem. Its a minor detail but it definitely makes a difference. The beauty about denim is that you can wear it a million ways: I would switch out the button up for a black bodysuit and a biker jacket, for example. Speaking of black, I was also drawn to this skirt while browsing the site. It also has a raw hem, but the white stitching is what makes it unique in my opinion. Moving on to my buckle choker, which I bought because I really wanted the AYAI Katya Choker. I found this super ultra cheap alternative on Ebay, yeah I said it.

More from Gamiss coming soon, and it is also white. Major hint alert. Keep up with Gamiss on their Facebook and Pinterest!

guccidenimI love women’s clothing, but if I like something from the men’s section I have absolutely no shame. This denim jacket is the perfect example. Unfortunately I’m a #brokegirl, but fortunately I am determined. I’ve found two alternative options which would require a DIY (which I don’t mind).

  1. Boohoo Men’s Borg Lined Denim Jacket
  2. SheInside Boyfriend Denim Jacket

My favorite is option 1, but it is sold out in medium. I’m praying for a restock! Although the GUCCI denim jacket is embroidered, you can easily buy some patches on Amazon to achieve a similar look. I can’t wait to try this out myself.

Lace up shorts: AKIRA (here)
Thigh highs: UrbanOG
Denim Jacket: Forever 21

A couple of weeks back I had told one of my besties that I wanted lace up shorts, but I never found a pair that fit well. So of course AKIRA came into the picture with this pair that I had to have. I like that they can be paired with alot of simple tops, like a band tee or a baby tee. Not only that, but if you want to dress it up, you can wear it Kendall Jenner at Coachella style with a lace bra top. I’m petite, but my booty needs room, so I was so glad that the sizing was perfect. I went with a size small after contemplating between a small and medium. Shop the shorts here, or look through new arrivals here! Next I want to talk about the baby tee, which is literally…a baby tee.

So, how can you possibly get away with wearing a kids tee? Very simple.

  1. I picked this one up for $2 dollars at Forever 21 in the kids section, and you can too.
  2. Because kids have their own sizing: 5/6, 7/8, 9/10, and 11/12, it would be best to just try them on. (because I am small ontop, a 5/6 fit me perfectly.)
  3. There’s no rules. If you want to wear a kids tee, wear a kids tee. Its about how you rock it.

The true definition of a baby tee, would be Rumi Neely’s version, which you’ve undoubtedly seen all over her Instagram. This kids tee is a bit longer than the AYAI baby tees, but in reality, you don’t have to spend $79 on it. Let me tell you how. Quick DIY ladies: Buy the kids tee at forever 21, and in order to achieve the AYAI baby tee raw hem JUST CUT IT. I actually just got the idea as I was typing this, so I’ll be doing it myself soon.

Wearing a cutout asymmetrical top from none other than TOBI. It is a versatile piece with a modern twist, that I thought of pairing with my black wide leg trousers. Love the design of this top, and theres plenty more where it came from. New arrivals just landed, and I already have my eyes on a few things. If anything catches your eye, remember that new customers can sign up for 50% off their first order! Interested? Bra Top: Forever 21 (lusting for this one)
Denim Jacket: Forever 21 (here)
Purse: Forever 21

I was originally going to wear this outfit with the longline duster from a previous post, but i looked like i was walking out in pajamas (not that it’s a bad thing). The bra top adds the perfect hint of sexiness to the outfit, and i love that it combines sheer and lace detailing. Oh, not to mention its absolutely comfortable. Sidenote: Currently obsessed with Green Assassin Dollar, whom is now added to my likes on Soundcloud! You can click the music tab on the sidebar to listen to more, or you can listen to my favorite Green Assassin Dollar mixtape here. Tracks #10 and #12 on repeat forever, just saying.

Devil In A Black Dress is back with some g a s. A successful semester and an anime binge session later, I’m ready to continue what I started. Recently I picked up what has grown to be my favorite handbag, a miniature backpack. Extremely versatile and spacious, I don’t think I’ll ever pick up a purse again. Lastly, Lauren Evans I hope you like this post because i don’t think you know how much your email meant to me, I almost forgot how much I loved doing this.
