I missed expressing myself so much. I get mental blocks sometimes but it’s funny how the outcomes of my own life give me the creativity I felt I was lacking. I’m a very emotional individual, but my own emotions helped me create this project alongside a dear friend of mine (@organic.honey_). It really blew my mind that she listened to me, understood the mood and concept I wanted, and truly put it together in front of my eyes. In order to understand this project, I recommend you listen to the song that inspired it in the first place. You cannot understand my emotions or train of thought, but this song conveys them perfectly. EVERGLADE is my interpretation of the repercussions of love. I know that to most people this seemed like a well put together outfit shoot, but “point-and-shoot” content has become progressively boring. Also big thanks to (@shhbbyisokay) for jumping in and taking additional shots.
Hoping to continue to create better content for my platforms! Happy Friday
Let me know what you’d want to watch if I started a Youtube channel. Still contemplating it, but it would allow me to expand DBD! Leave a comment if what you’re interested in is not on the poll already.
As some of you know, I love Korean fashion, but I am also very inspired by everything Japanese. I’ve been listening to 80’s Japanese disco and it’s the best shit ever💕 This look was my twist on Japanese streetstyle, and it has become one of my favorite outfits of 2017. I thought the culottes combined with sneakers would make me appear shorter than I already am, but the tube top definitely helped elongate my body. And okay these sunglasses are SO COOL. They pulled the look together, and I’m crying over the Kurt Cobain inspired frame (and the red-orange tint). If you’ve read my previous post you’d know that red was one of the IT colors on the runway this season.
I had alot of fun editing these photos, btw. Will post again soon, じゃあね!
Another rare moment, wearing a color other than black AND ruffles. Girly much. Loved this top the moment I saw it, simply because the silhouette was so interesting. Not only that, but this top also combines the seasons off-shoulder trend with puff sleeves and pinstripes. I’m wearing a size XS and I’m petite af. Hope that helps *shrugs*.
Finally some mesh!!! It’s so cool to layer it, especially under unexpected pieces like a satin slip dress. The combo incorporates both feminine and edgy pieces that really gives it a *cough* Underworld vibe. There’s just something about vampires that is romantic, yet kick-ass. This mesh bodysuit from AKIRA is a thong so it’s basically invisible under a delicate fabric like satin. Recently picked up another mesh item at Forever 21, somebody stop me. Also, I bought a pair of enormous black platforms. I need to show you all…….
For the first time in my life, I’ve worn a patterned top. Not any pattern. STARS. I once saw the owner of SaboSkirt, Thessy, wear a polka-dot top and I fell in love. Did I have the courage to wear something similar at that time…of course not. But the time has come, and IT’S LIT (jk, but for real it is). This Forever 21 top has subtle lace up detailing that only adds to the stars. I styled this outfit with a 70’s vibe in mind, hence the yellow tinted sunglasses. For being totally out of my comfort zone, I definitely felt most confident while shooting this outfit. A huge hug for the Forever 21 team, for allowing this collab to happen! More looks to come.
Have you been listening to my likes on Soundcloud? I update it daily, and I’ve been listening to Che Ecru’s Benefits on r e p e a t. Lastly, want to know where I get outfit inspo from? Check out my Tumblr, and my Pinterest! Hopefully you’ll find something that inspires you too. XOXO
If anybody as short as me has noticed, jeans can be very scary. They scrunch, they’re always sold out, and online shopping can be a nightmare. If a model is 5’9, and the jeans fit her perfectly at her ankle, just exit your browser. But what happens when a petite girl gets angry/creative? A DIY, that’s what. In this collaboration with Forever 21, I strategically picked out flare jeans with the sole intention of hacking off a chunk of the hem. Cropped flares look effortless on tall women, and I wanted a pair (that didn’t cost me an arm or leg, too). Why pay $60.00 for jeans that you can cut at home? This pair from Forever 21 are already distressed and have an interesting wash, so all that was missing was turning them into a pair that suit ME. Here’s how:
Put your flares on and fold them as much as your heart desires. (Cropped flares are about 2 inches above the ankle)
Secure them with pins and carefully take them off.
Lay them flat on the floor and with measuring tape, measure the length you have folded.
Remove the pins, measure the length you got in step 3 starting from the hem up, and draw a line with a white crayola where the measurement ends.
Cut across, and distress with sandpaper or the blade of your scissors (or throw them in the wash and dryer, they all work).
Wear them and rejoice in the fact that you saved about $3o.
In collaboration with Forever 21, I present to you my favorite shoot to date. I’ve picked up a couple of sweaters at Forever 21 before, but I have to say that I was absolutely surprised by the quality of this one in particular. I LOVE that the sleeves are extra long, because they gave me those Korean style vibes I’m into right now. So, sleeves [check], but what about the material? This sweater is T H I C K. The sweater alone kept me warm during the shoot, without having to layer a jacket over it. Next, the holy grail: my new ring belt. I’ve literally seen it on Korean celebrities, aswell as on the streets of Seoul. I had to do it, and I didn’t think twice about it. No regrets.
If you liked this outfit, stay tuned for more looks I’ve put together with Forever 21! #sponsored
